Off-boarding from the Clumio VMware backup service

Purpose

This document describes the process for off-boarding from the Clumio service for VMware.

Prerequisites

Please ensure that the intent to off-board from Clumio has been made known either to your Clumio Account Team or by reaching out to Clumio Technical Support via [email protected].

The user wishing to conduct the off-boarding must have valid administrative credentials to the following:

  1. vCenter administrative access to manage the Clumio Cloud Connector VM.
  2. Clumio service credentials used to access the Clumio administrative Web UI.

Resolution

  1. Log into your vCenter UI to power-down and delete the Clumio Cloud Connector VM.
  2. Contact Clumio Support to enable the "Disconnect vCenter" option on the Clumio UI

Once the option is enabled per confirmation from the support team, log into your Clumio UI and disconnect all vCenters:

  1. VMware Cloud > vCenters** > All the available vCenters will be displayed.
  2. Click the vCenter IP ADDRESS / FQDN which is to be disconnected
  3. Go to Cloud Connector Settings and click Disconnect vCenter.

After conducting the steps listed above, all VMs previously protected by a Clumio backup policy will be unprotected and backups will be expired and deleted from the Clumio Platform.
