Clumio Discover gives you a look at all your AWS assets, across all accounts and regions, all in one place. Use Discover to learn how to better protect your assets and backups.

Improve asset protection

  • Find vulnerabilities in your current backup strategy using the Risk Assessment tab.
  • See a summary of your assets and backups by size and count on the Inventory summary tab.
  • Examine the risk to specific assets using the Asset List tab.

Evaluate your overall protection strategy

Discover calculates Risk Assessment scores to show you how well your current backup strategy keeps your data safe. See how well your assets are protected against ransomware, and whether your backup strategy enables operational data recovery. Find these scores, along with other graphs and charts, on the Risk Assessment tab.

The Ransomware Recovery Score evaluates how well your assets are protected from a ransomware attack. You can change the filters to see how your score changes by account, region, tag, or asset type.

Clumio calculates the Ransomware score based on what kind of backup your assets have and how recently they were taken. For details, refer to the Knowledge base article Ransomware Recovery Score.

The Data Recovery Score is based on the age of your backups and whether you have missing recovery points, compared to a default scenario of daily backups and 7-day retention. Use the filters to see how your score changes by account, region, tag, or other criteria. Select a backup schedule scenario from the top of the page to see how well your current backups meet different policy requirements.

Clumio calculates the Data Recovery Score score based on how recently your data was backed up, and whether backups happen as often as your policy requires. For details, refer to the Knowledge base article Data Recovery Score.

Note: DynamoDB SecureVault backups are not yet included in Discover risk score calculations

Find at-risk assets

Use the graphs and charts on the Risk Assessment tab to identify at-risk assets.

See which of your assets do not have the recovery points required by policy. The Detailed Out-of-policy Asset Protection Assessment chart, under Data Recovery, shows how many recovery points are missing per asset, sorted by how long it has been since the last backup was taken.

  • Missing backups means you risk not having the recovery points you need.
  • Recent backups are more likely to have the data you need for recovery.

Find which of your assets are most vulnerable in a ransomware attack. The Detailed Asset Protection Assessment chart, under Ransomware Recoveery, shows assets that have not been backed up recently, sorted by backup type.

  • Assets backed up recently allow you to recover from a ransomware attack more easily.
  • In-account snapshots are more vulnerable to ransomware attacks than cross-account snapshots, while assets backed up with Clumio SecureVault have the strongest protection because they are air-gapped from your AWS accounts.

After you identify at-risk assets, use the Resource List tab to see backup details for those individual assets.

Determine risk levels for high-value assets

Use the Inventory tab to see a summary of your assets by size and count, and data protection for these assets through backup size and count. Filter the data by account, region, and tag to find your high-value assets.

Find your specific high-value assets on the Resource List tab. See Risk scores and backup details for those individual assets, including when and how they are backed up.

Select a backup schedule scenario from the top of the page to see how well the asset's backups meet different policy requirements. Try out different backup schedule scenarios and see how your scores change.

Inventory details for EBS and EC2 offer insight into asset utilization and the rate at which your data is changing and growing. Following these changes can help you understand your backup storage needs and identify unexpected changes in usage.

Reduce vulnerability

Use Discover to continue evaluating and refining your backup strategy, then implement changes through Clumio's AWS protection rules.

Clumio SecureVault backup protects your AWS assets and keeps your backed-up data safe from ransomware attacks. Clumio SecureVault backup reduces vulnerability by applying backup policy through Clumio's AWS protection rules. Protection rules specify when a policy is applied and to which assets.
