Description
The “Backup Completed With Errors” alert in the context of Amazon RDS Archive Tier Backups is a warning, not an actual backup failure. This alert is triggered when the backup workflow detects empty databases on your Amazon RDS instance or cluster.
When empty databases are identified, it is skipped, while all other data is backed up as expected. A recovery point is still created, and this does not impact your ability to restore.
This behavior is expected and does not indicate a critical issue.

Empty Databases Information
To view details about the RDS instance and impacted databases:
- Expand the alert in the console for full context.
- Navigate to the related RDS backup task.
- Click the Download Content hyperlink to download a JSON file listing the names of the empty databases.
Resolution
This alert is informational only and does not require action. Your backup and restore processes remain unaffected.
If you prefer to suppress or avoid this alert, consider the following options:
Option 1: Remove or consolidate any empty databases from the RDS instance.
Option 2: Ignore the alert, as it does not compromise backup integrity or restoration capability.
