Clumio Credit Consumption
Clumio customers should now expect to have their credit consumption calculated on a monthly basis. The Consumption Report on the Clumio platform will continue to provide a view of daily credit usage. However, customers will now see estimated monthly consumption, indicated by an asterisk against the dates for which the credit consumption is displayed. The following image is an example of the consumption report with the estimated charges.
How will this affect prepaid customers?
If you are a prepaid customer, the Consumption Report dashboard will continue to display your daily credit usage as noted above, but these will be estimates until the actual credit consumption is calculated for that month. The actual credit consumption will be reflected around the middle of the following month (there will be no asterisk against the consumption numbers once they are finalized).
How will this affect pay-as-you-go customers?
If you are a pay-as-you-go customer, you will now be charged for the credits you have consumed when the billing period closes and not as you consume credits. The Consumption Report dashboard will continue to display your daily credit usage as noted above, but these will be estimates for billing periods that are not yet closed. Clumio finalizes charges for the billing period (the billing period runs from the first day of the month to the last day of that month) in the first couple of weeks of the following month and sends the invoice to AWS. AWS will then in turn send you an invoice for charges incurred for these services in the subsequent month. For example, Clumio's October charges are reported mid November, so Clumio's October charges will appear along with your AWS' November charges.
